Simran Jaising
Simran is the founder of Bijli, The Destination to Discover Modern Desi Foods in the Diaspora. Simran was born and raised in New York City, in a Sindhi-American household filled with Aloo Tukh, Kadhi Chawal, and Malpua Sundays. She was awarded a fellowship to study the Politics of Prasadam in Kolkata, and graduated with a minor in Molecular Gastronomy & Indian Food in 2012. Simran was invited to stage at Gaggan’s test kitchen, but as timing would have, she accepted an offer at a food tech startup the night before; catapulting a 10+ year career at early-stage & growth-stage Food Tech startups across New York, Los Angeles, and Bangalore.
