enthuReads: Less Waste, Tastier Espresso

Shweta is an outright coffee connoisseur, exchanging beans with a colleague on some days, french-pressing her coffee on others. So, it didn’t come as a surprise when she shared a long read on ways to enhance the beverage, albeit quirkily.

It began when a coffee expert and a volcanologist were able to draw similarities between the ‘science of coffee and plumes of volcanic ash, magama, and water’. Interesting, right? Research has helped prove that adding a squirt of water before grinding coffee reduces static electricity which in turn minimises waste and produces a fuller, tastier cup of espresso.

But this comes with a set of strict guidelines – a set temperature, the amount of coffee, the time required – to produce roughly an ounce of perfect espresso.
